Gourmet food and fine artisan-made goods go hand in hand. They speak the same language, so to say. One cannot craft a gourmet meal without quality ingredients, and one cannot craft a fine piece of jewelry without quality materials. Skillful hands in the process of creation is of the utmost importance, and last but not least is the aesthetic presentation. It is no wonder, then, that Chef James Campbell Caruso and Jeweler/Gallerist Moriah Stanton have set out to work side by side. Chef James’ latest concept, “Bodega La Boca”, and Moriah Stanton’s new MoMo Gallery location will share a site at the corner of Marcy and Lincoln Avenue in downtown Santa Fe.
Chef James and Moriah have a history of working together. Moriah was a server at Chef James’ La Boca for several years starting in 2008 until she moved to Taos in pursuit of making her jewelry full time. Chef James and Moriah never lost touch and have continued to collaborate. When Chef mentioned interest in taking over the recently shut down cafe on the corner near La Boca, Moriah immediately jumped on the opportunity to take on the space right next to it. Formerly the Windsor Betts gallery, she realized it would be an ideal second location for her burgeoning gallery, MoMo Taos. Moriah was able to secure the location under a temporary lease and has since set up shop.
At MoMo Santa Fe you will find locally made fine furniture, Jewelry, Textiles, Paintings, Sculpture and Fine Home Goods. Most artists represented live right here, in Northern New Mexico. Chef James’ Bodega La Boca will bring gourmet imported retail food items, fresh coffee and pastries, grab and go Bocadillos and more. You will be stepping into a taste of the old world with a focus on Spain. Come to the corner and sip on a delicious cafe con leche, savor a fresh profiterole and pick up some exotic spices, then slip right into MoMo without leaving the building. Enjoy looking at contemporary art and perhaps find that very special something that you and/or your home can't live without.
